“Water” Fundraiser Brings Atlanta Music Community Together

Milk Money Consulting's president, Monica Tannian, has a passion for helping others as much as she cares about making great music. As an Atlanta based manager of recording engineers, music producers, and songwriters, Monica supports the efforts of artists like Cee Lo Green, Akon, India Arie, and many others.  And her precision honed skill for bringing together unique individuals has found a new calling; helping the people of drought affected areas of Africa find their most precious resource, water. This February Monica staged a benefit in support of her sister Joyce Tannian, a former HBO executive-turned nonprofit crusader, who has spent the last 4 years digging wells and providing hope to thousands in Kenya. The event for "Water is Life Kenya," was held at Telephone Factory Lofts, in the artspace of the Atlanta based, international artist Miguel Sartori.  The event brought together a diverse group of people, including Grammy Award Winning music producers she works with. On hand were original works by Maasai jewelers, which were sold to help raise money for new projects sister Joyce is leading.  Joyce, who is an accomplished opera singer, also sang "These Good Gifts," which inspired the crowd of attendees.  Over 2,000 dollars was given through donations and the sale of Maasai jewelry.   Not bad for a Super Bowl Sunday!
