Patrick Collier

With a deep love and understanding of music at an early age, Patrick Collier began his career in music as a Producer.  Taught by his stepfather the art of DJ’ing at the age of nine and consistently chosen as a solo vocalist throughout elementary school, the combination of those two skills lead him to have an interest in production. By the age of 16, Patrick’s mother purchased his first Yamaha keyboard workstation. By mixing his own productions, and reading books on engineering and the theory of sound and acoustics, he quickly gained the fundamental skills to being a great Engineer. Patrick would eventually use these same skills to produce several rock bands and singer songwriters in his neighborhood.

Fast forward to 2008 majoring in Music Recording Technology at Hampton University, Patrick soon found himself as one of the core leaders of the University’s music scene. During his time at Hampton, he gained the attention of one of the school’s honorable alumni, Grammy Award winner Christopher “Deep” Henderson. After hearing Patrick’s records, Chris had Patrick fly to Atlanta, GA to go straight to work. After one week, Patrick engineered on his first major album “Try Songz – Ready”. He then moved to Atlanta, transferred to S.A.E and signed a deal to Deep Productions as a Producer. Soon after, Patrick found himself a position at DARP Studios, gaining the attention of Dallas Austin who hired him as his personal Engineer. While working with Dallas, Patrick quickly found himself engineering on projects such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Far East Movement, Nicole Scherzinger and many more. With a skilled and diverse ear for great music, Patrick continues to work with Dallas as a key ingredient to productive and successful studio sessions.
