Sam Thomas – Mix Engineer
Sam Thomas loves his gig. He likes to talk about his latest projects, the latest in new gear and the best shortcuts in Logic that he’s discovered. Whether working with super-producer Bryan-Michael Cox or a cadre of notable A-list clients, Sam’s passion is mixing music and making “people go crazy with (his) new twist on how music is to be heard”.
A graduate of Full Sail, Sam relocated to Atlanta in the spring of 2000, just in time for the urban music boom that was hitting the city. Sam got together with Bryan-Michael Cox to work on some of the biggest hits in pop, hip-hop, and R&B . Sam has recorded or mixed with the entire left side of the charts with such noted performers as: Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige, Ciara, Toni Braxton, Fantasia, Jagged Edge, Luther Vandross, Nicole Scherzinger (Pussycat Dolls), Gwen Stefani, Omarion, Ludacris, TLC, Keyshia Cole, Joe, Lloyd and countless others. One of Sam’s latest feats is his terrific mixing on India Arie’s new album, Testimony Vol. 2: Love & Politics. Produced by Dru Castro and India, the project will be out in February 2009. Sam has also been working with Bryan Michael Cox on several new projects, including music from Trey Songz, Ginuwine, Yolanda Adams Monica and Chrissette Michelle. Thomas has also been heavily involved in several TV projects, having tracked and mixed the Making the Band 4 theme song in addition to several songs on their new album.
Although Sam really enjoys mixing , he does tracking and has been busy writing, recently collaborating on “Ghetto” for J. Holiday’s Back of My ‘Lac with Donnie Scantz. Thomas is a skilled guitarist, and is also available to do producing. What a guy!
