With major songwriting contributions on Leona Lewis’ Spirit, Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera, Introducing Joss Stone and Elliott Yamin, Tony Reyes is starting to garner well-deserved attention for his writing and production skills.

A first-call session musician and a secret weapon of Dallas Austin’s, Tony’s guitar, bass, keyboards and background vocals have graced a multitude of hit records. Gwen Stefani’s Love Angel Music Baby, Shakira’s Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 as well as songs from such varied artists as Natalie Cole, Anastacia, Janet Jackson, Staind, Stacie Orrico, Kelis, Christina Milian, Shakira and Sugababes have all featured Tony’s musical ability.

Tony co-wrote “Reason to Believe” with Lionel Richie and Dallas Austin for Lionel’s album Coming Home. Along with Ben Allen, Tony co-wrote and co-produced the Christina Aguilera track “Here to Stay” for Back to Basics. Tony’s also written with J Records’ Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls), Justin Timberlake’s artist Esmee Denters and with hit songwriters Scott Cutler and Anne Preven (Beyonce’s “Listen”, Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn”) for various projects.

Currently, Tony is helping long time friend and collaborator Novel finish Audiobiography, due this summer on Dallas Austin’s Rowdy imprint. Tony co-wrote and co-produced several songs on the project with Novel.

Fun Facts About Tony

Why Music? Originally going to be a Priest. Tony played acoustic guitar at mass . He, at 14 plugged his brother’s electric guitar in to an amp and played jammed with the Rolling Stones recording of “Get Your Ya Ya out”. That was it!

Most Unusual Job: Acid washed tractor trailers one summer, ended up with bleached eyebrows and a white afro!! Lunch was cooler full of ham and cheese sandwiches. Great Money!!
